Our goal is to provide learning and social opportunities that you; the students, graduate students and community members are interested in. If there is a topic that you would like to learn about or you would like to facilitate a class or an event please contact us and let us know. We will work with you to cultivate a rich, dynamic experience for everyone!

4PM in the Student Lounge:
Cafe Midrash
with Rav Ben
Discover the depth and profundity of Midrash over cups of delicious coffee and pastries! We will be exploring the beginnings of the Jewish people through the lens of the classic 3rd century work Bereshit Rabbah.
One hour before mincha:
Gemara b'iyun Chaburah
Interested in joining a study group engaged in an in-depth exploration of the Talmud? If you are come to this chaburah, which meets weekly before mincha, led by Hillel Nadler.
Once a month:
Breakfast with Rabbanit Sharon (women only)
Enjoy a wonderful breakfast and share in a discussion about Jewish topics important to women with Rabbanit Sharon.

Talmud for Everyone
with Rabbanit Sharon
Whether you have been learning Gemara for some time or you want to experience for the first time the rich subject of Talmud study this class is for you. We will be learning the first chapter of Tractate Pesachim.

Beit Philosophy

Help turn the Hillel dining hall into a philosophy house! Join us for a lively discussion over some of the key works of modern Jewish philosophy. This class will meet during Cheap Eats for Grads in the dining hall. Come for a delicious inexpensive all-you-can-eat kosher buffet and engage the world of modern Jewish philosophy!

Harvard JLIC is proud to present a live video feed of the Torah Conferencing Network and Rabbi Yisroel Reisman on Saturday nights at Harvard Hillel! Rabbi Reisman received rabbinic ordination from Rav Avrohom Pam zt"l and is a teacher at Yeshiva Torah Vodaath in Brooklyn, NY and is the Rabbi of the Agudath Israel Zichron Chaim Tzvi in Brooklyn.
Rabbi Reisman's class every Saturday night at Ahi Ezer in Brooklyn NY is attended by over one thousand people! We are excited to host this class on the Prophets, Jewish Law and Jewish Philosophy!

"Should our Sister be Made a Harlot?: A Jewish Response to Sex Slavery and Human Tafficking" with Scholar-in-Residence Gila Kletenik
Gila Kletenik is a scholar as the Graduate Program for Advanced Talmud Studies at the Stern College for Women of Yeshiva University. We are pleased she will be joining us for Shabbat and presenting on the topic of sex slavery and human trafficking and the Jewish response at 6PM in Rabb Hall.

Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks

Prof. Michael Sandel
Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks is the Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth and has held the position since September 1991. Rabbi Sacks prior to assuming the role of Chief Rabbi was Principal of Jews' College and the rabbi of the Golders Green and March Arch Synagogues in London.
Rabbi Sacks is known around the world as one of the most eloquent and articulate representatives of the Jewish community. His recently published prayerbook, The Koren Sacks Siddur, has transformed the prayer experience for thousands of Modern Orthodox Jews.
He received the Jerusalem Prize in 1995 and was knighted by the Queen of England in 2005. He was made a Life Peer and took his seat in the House of Lords in October of 2009.
Tickets are $10 for community members but free for Harvard students. Either way a RSVP is required for this event and more information can be found at the Harvard Hillel website.
